Erzgebirge goats, known as Erzgebirgsziege in German, originate from the Saxony region of Germany. They are primarily raised for milk production.
These goats have a distinctive reddish-brown coat complemented by black markings on the dorsal stripe, belly, legs, and face mask.
Notably, they are polled, meaning they naturally lack horns. Despite their valuable contributions, Erzgebirge goats are currently classified as critically endangered.
Conservation efforts are essential to preserve this unique breed for future generations.
